Password Protected

I just got my last warning that my IC Login Password will expire. I’m sick of changing my password every 80 days. Nowadays, I don’t even use WebMail. I just have all my e-mails forwarded to my Gmail account. Since sophomore year I’ve been at 98% capacity for my inbox. Now, with Gmail’s 7377MB of storage, I’m at about 2% capacity. If you haven’t switched to Gmail yet, do it now. Go ahead.

Ok, now you’re back. But using Gmail isn’t the end-all be-all of this IC Password conundrum. I still have to remember it to get on to Blackboard.

Back when I only had one password to remember – AOL 4.0 – I wrote it down on a post-it-note and posted it on the back of the huge computer. Then I got AIM, Facebook, all this shit. More passwords to remember. Still, not a big deal. Added them to the list on the post it note.

But now – damn, I’ve got too many passwords to keep track of. And it’s all because of Webmail.

Let’s say, for example, my password is Nesquik. (It’s not, I’m just drinking a Nesquik right now.) I’m sure everyone’s password has been some nuance of Nesquik! or Nesquik1. %Nesquik, and now, 1Nesquik%.

It’s for this reason that I don’t have my browser “remember” my password. If it remembers, I forget! Moral of the story – screw ITS, and drink more Nesquik!

About Riley

I'm Riley. One could say that I started this website. It's a continuation of the Ithacan't, a publication created during a semester in Los Angeles to cure boredom and make an effort to entertain students living in Burbank. Needless to say, I like to write, as well as be awesome. But there's more to me than just that. I like to run; Sometimes in races, but oftentimes just in the trails of Ithaca. On Sundays I might be hungover, because on Saturday night... I like to drink beer; Natty, especially. Otherwise I'm going to spend money on a craftier beer. Or a bottle of Scotch - which isn't produced in... America; a place I like to respect and honor. Occasionally, I write. But there's no photographic evidence of that, so just take my word for it. Enjoy!
